VFW to host forum

The local VFW post and its Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a Meet the Candidates Night October 16, 2000, at 7 p.m. at the Bairfield Activity Center at Clarendon College.

As of press time, the VFW reported the following candidates as confirmed for the evening: Randall Sims, Stewart Messer, William “Bill” Holden, Wilma Lindley, Wanda Smith, Andy Wheatley, and Jimmy Swinney. Other local candidates were reportedly sent an invitation to the event but have not responded. VFW officials say all candidates are welcome at the event.

Joe Davis, general manager of KLSR Radio in Memphis, will moderate the forum. 

This event is free to the public, and refreshments will be served.
