Thornberry
leading delegation to Iraq
WASHINGTON
- U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon) is leading a congressional
delegation to Iraq this week to meet with troops and assess the current
situation on the ground in that country.
“I
believe it is important for members of Congress to get a first-hand look
at the progress that is - and is not - being made and hear directly from
our troops how things are going and what more they need to get the job
done,” Thornberry said.
The
delegation is being organized by the House Armed Services Committee, which
Thornberry serves on as a member. Thornberry
was asked to lead the delegation by Armed Services Committee Chairman
Duncan Hunter (R-CA).
