Incumbents file for offices

Filing for next year’s General Election is underway in the Donley County Clerk’s Office, and already four incumbents have signed up for re-election.

Sheriff Charles “Butch” Blackburn, Jr., Tax Assessor/Collector Wilma Lindley, Commissioner Pct. 1 Ernest Johnston, and Commissioner Pct. 3 Henry “Buster” Shields have all filed to run for their respective offices. None had drawn opponents at press time.

Other positions up for election next year include District Judge, District Attorney, and Constable of Precincts 3&4.

The deadline for candidates to file is January 2, 2004.
