Residents
of Clarendon are urged to brighten up the town this Saturday, April 17,
during the spring citywide clean up.
City
Administrator Sean Pate says residents will be able to dump their trash
for free all day at the City Recycling Center. The center still cannot
accept some things – such as shingles and tires – but tree limbs and
general trash and debris can be taken until 8 p.m.
The
clean up will start in the North Ward community, proceed downtown, and
then go from there as needed. Pate said some city workers are donating
their time to help with the project, and volunteers from the community are
invited to meet at the City Barn at 8 a.m. to offer their assistance.
Pate
also said that if any senior citizens or disabled residents are unable to
haul off debris, they can obtain assistance by calling City Hall ahead of
time at 874-3438.
