Activities
are coming together for a weekend of family fun for the fourth annual
Donley County Turkey Strut Festival this Saturday.
A
Pet Show will start the morning at 10:30 on the parking lot east of the
Post Office. Organizers are also making plans for a prize walk, a ring
toss, a Frisbee throw, and a kite-flying contest. Numerous other events
will also be held up and down Kearney Street, making for a full day of
fun.
Two
volleyball teams have been put together, and more teams are encouraged to
form and register at the Burton Memorial Library at 10 a.m.
Volleyball games will be held near the parking lot east of the Post
Office.
Voting
for the right to be the fourth King Turkey will continue until 4 p.m., and
the top five candidates will be dressed up and paraded around the
festival.
Youth
prizes for the Turkey Strut will be awarded at 5:30 p.m. in front of the
Clarendon Chamber of Commerce office.
The
king candidates will have a mattress race following the awards
presentation, and the new Turkey King will be crowned between 5:30 and
6:00 p.m.
