Two CHS students headed to Austin 

Two CHS students will be competing at the State UIL Academic Meet as a result of their placements in the Regional Meet held last week at South Plains College in Levelland.

Senior Lydia Hartman, who placed second in headlines, and junior Sarah Depew, who placed third in Lincoln Douglas Debate, will match their abilities with other state contenders in Austin on May 6 - 8.

This will be Hartman’s second trip to Austin to compete in headlines. As a sophomore, she placed second at the state meet.

At Levelland, junior Tim Sears placed 5th in editorials. Others who competed were seniors Joaenea Horn, Ottis Scrivner, and Matt Aaron and juniors Shanna Shelton, Robert Shelton, Branson Carter, and Uthala Abdullah. Sponsors are Lydal Gillen, DeeAnn Sears, and Diane Chamberlain.
