Tax assessor rejects rumors of retirement

Donley County Tax Assessor/Collector Wilma Lindley this week released a statement denying a rumor that she is planning to retire.

Lindley, who is running for re-election, says she appreciates citizens who have come to her to learn the truth and says she fully intends to serve another four years if re-elected.

“If I had any plans of retirement, I certainly would not have paid a filing fee of $750 to have my name on the ballot,” Lindley said.
