Kelby Shields, Freshman Morgan Wood, Freshman Kailee Burton, Freshman Alex
Sharp, Freshman Marlee Shields, and Senior Katie Gregory as the Owl
Mascot.
The girls received
superior cheer squad awards on all their cheers and chants. The girls also
had three girls nominated for the All American Cheer Squad. Betty Cruz was nominated for her outstanding leadership
skills, Jaci Copelin was nominated for outstanding jumps, and Alex Sharp
was nominated for dance.
During tryouts,
Copelin was chosen to the All American Cheerleading squad and is eligible
to attend the Rose Bowl in Hawaii or the Orange Bowl in Florida and cheer
with other young ladies across the country.
Mascot Katie Gregory
was also nominated as an All-American Mascot and received a trophy as the
most improved mascot of the camp and was chosen to the All-American Mascot
squad for her character Ollie the Owl.
Cheerleading sponsor
Cheryl Koetting stated she was really excited about this year’s squad as
she felt she had a group of girls who truly represented the Hedley School
well.
