Hedley
making plans for 55th Cotton Festival

The 55th Annual
Hedley Cotton Festival will kick off Friday, October 13, 2006, at 5 p.m.
as the Lioness Club hosts a chili/stew supper. Also, tickets will be sold
for a queen size hand-made quilt. The drawing will be Saturday at 6 p.m.
at the Lion’s Den. You don’t have to be present to win.
Saturday, October 14,
at 10 a.m. there will be a tractor and car show, Rowe Cemetery bake sale,
and National Honor Society cakewalk and jail. At 11:30 a.m. there is the
Lion’s Club Bar-B-Q. B-B-Q tickets are good on drawings for Bale of
Cotton Drawing at 6 p.m. in the Lion’s Den. You must be present to win.
Other events Saturday
include the Kiddie Parade at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Community Parade at
2 p.m. The Hedley School Reunion will be held at the school at 3 p.m., and
at 4 p.m. the BBQ Beef Packs will be available at the Lion’’ Den.
The Hedley Senior
Citizens will serve Frito pie, nachos, drinks, candy, etc. They are also
raffling a shotgun, a Remington 870 Express donated by Reynolds Machine
Shop. The drawing is at 6 p.m. at the Lions Den. The Math and Science
Clubs will hold bingo at the Senior Citizens.
Entertainment will be
provided by KLSR-105.3. Craft booths are welcome, but no food booths.
