Veterans Day services set for November 12

Two local services have been planned to commemorate Veterans Day here next week.

The Adamson-Lane Post of the American Legion will host the annual Veterans Day service on Monday, November 12, at 10 a.m.

The post will place flags on the graves of more than 200 veterans in Rowe Cemetery; and George Hall, a veteran of Desert Storm and Desert Shield, will deliver the address for the day.

The public is invited, and the program will end with a special playing of “Taps” by Lance Corporal Larry Ray, USMC.

The Donley County VFW will observe the historic date and time of the Armistice that ended World War I with a service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 11, at the War Memorial on the Courthouse Square.
