Local
merchants ready to serve holiday shoppers
Late Night Shopping is
still one week away, but activities in Downtown Clarendon are getting
ginned up for the holidays this weekend.
The Clarendon Chamber of
Commerce will set the mood for Christmas by lighting the Courthouse Square
this Saturday evening.
Also this weekend, three
local merchants are holding Open House sales and celebrations. Look inside
this week’s Enterprise for specific details in advertisements for
Country Bloomers Flowers & Gifts, Every Nook & Cranny, and
Henson’s.
Next week, Kearney Street
will bustle with activity on Thursday night as merchants turn on their
Christmas lights and Late Night Shopping gets underway.
Most stores downtown will
be staying open until 8 p.m., and the Clarendon Merchants Association will
be spinning the wheel for Christmas Cash and prizes every night. There
will be five lucky winners every Thursday night from November 29 to
December 20.
The Chamber of Commerce
will put $100 in Christmas Cash on the wheel each Thursday; and if no one
wins the money, it will roll over to the next week. You must be present to
spin, and you must sign up that Thursday at a participating merchant.
Other Late Night Shopping
events and activities will be announced in future issues, and Chamber
officials are also planning a Cowboy Christmas event for one Saturday,
December 15.
Your local merchants
support your local schools, youth groups, and charitable organizations.
Support the businesses who support your community by shopping at home this
holiday season.
