Late
Night jackpot climbs to $200
The Late Night Shopping jackpot
has rolled to $200 this week after none of the five lucky spinners landed
on the big money last Thursday.
Holiday shoppers can again enjoy
extended hours at downtown merchants this Thursday night; and while
they’re checking items off their lists, they can also sign up for a
chance to spin the wheel and win prizes from 24 local businesses.
The Chamber of Commerce is
providing the $100 in Christmas Cash each night of Late Night Shopping.
Five lucky winners will be drawn; and if no one hits the big money, the
pot rolls over and will continue to do so until the final night of Late
Night Shopping on December 20 when someone will win the money.
Last week’s winners were James
Thomas, Scott Landis, Donna Barnes, Tommy Hill, and Erica Brown.
Merchants on Kearney Street stay
open until 8 p.m. during Late Night Shopping, and refreshments are
available at various businesses and at the Downtown Ministry Center.
Late Night Shopping will continue
December 6, 13, and 20.
In addition to providing the
jackpot money for Late Night Shopping every Thursday night, the Chamber of
Commerce is also making big plans for a Christmas Celebration next week.
On Saturday, December 15, the
Chamber will sponsor festivities on the KEFH parking lot at US 287 and
Sully Street beginning at 4 p.m. The plans call for live music and an
appearance by that Jolly Old Elf himself – Santa Claus!
But that won’t be Santa’s
first visit to Clarendon this year. He will also be here next Thursday,
December 13, during Late Night Shopping, inside the Burton Memorial
Library along with Mrs. Claus and some of their elves for pictures and
refreshments.
Holiday shopping at home is easy
and affordable with all three local banks again teaming up to provide
zero-percent interest “Christmas Cash” loans this year. For the 13th
year, anyone can make application for a loan up to $3,000 interest free
with Community Bank, the Donley County State Bank, or Herring Bank.
Christmas Cash may be spent like
US currency at all of the participating businesses.
