Hill wins $300 Late Night Shopping jackpot

Late Night Shopping will be busier than usual Thursday after frigid weather delayed plans for a Christmas Celebration last Saturday.

The Chamber of Commerce will start its celebration at 4 p.m. on the KEFH parking lot at US 287 and Sully. Plans call for live music, a fruit cake toss, lots of fun, and an appearance by Santa Claus, who will be bringing treats for all the little boys and girls.

Chamber officials are hoping for a big crowd, and they remind everyone to bring their lawn chairs for seating.

Meanwhile, things keep on bustling around the corner on Kearney Street as downtown merchants will be open until 8 p.m. for the final night of Late Night Shopping.

While shoppers are checking those last minute items off their lists, they can also sign up to spin the wheel for a chance to win $100 in Christmas Cash.

Last week, Danny Hill hit the jackpot on the wheel, winning $300 in Christmas Cash. Patsy Havens, Shaunda Curtis, Ashley Wortham, and Cassie O’Neal also won prizes from local merchants.

Holiday shopping at home is easy and affordable with zero-percent interest “Christmas Cash” loans this year. Anyone can make application for a loan up to $3,000 interest free with Community Bank, the Donley County State Bank, or Herring Bank.

Participating merchants are: Ace Hardware, Bronco Burger, Clarendon Auto Sales, Clarendon Outpost, Clarendon Steakhouse, Clarendon Veterinary Hospital and Vet Supply, Community Bank, Cornell’s Country Store, Country Bloomers Flowers & Gifts, Every Nook & Cranny, Floyd’s Automotive Supply, Henson’s, Herring Bank, Hitchin’ Post, J&W Lumber, Lowe’s Family Center, McKinney Motor Company, Mike’s Pharmacy, Nuttin’ Fancy Café, Sam Hill BBQ, Sonic Drive-In, Saye’s, Stavenhagen Video, and The Clarendon Enterprise.
