Wiley

Funeral Services for Louise U. Wiley, age 73, were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Dickerson officiating. Burial was held in Clarendon following the funeral under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.

Mrs. Wiley died Saturday, March 31, 2001. She was born January 1, 1928, in Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from Clarendon High School in 1947. She married Troy G. Wiley in 1947 and was a long time active member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a member of A.E. Shirley Eastern Star Chapter #986 of Amarillo. She was also past president of the ABWA Tascosa Chapter 3246, and this year she was voted Woman of the Year for this Chapter.

Survivors include Troy Wiley, a devoted husband of 54 years; two sons, R.G. Wiley of Austin and Carl Wiley and his wife, Rosemary, of Childress; three sisters, Lois Davis of Amarillo, Lola Carrol of Monett, SC, and Lorna Thomason of Abilene; three brothers, Lewis Underdown of Kerrville, Leo Underdown of Fort Worth, and Leon Underdown of Bristow, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Kristin Strickler of Austin, Carie Wiley of Amarillo, and Cory Wiley of Desoto.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the Temple Baptist Church “Van Fund,” 3208 Van Buren, Amarillo, TX 79109.
