Annie F. Thompson died June 11, 2001, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple after a brief illness.

She was born June 10, 1926, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She joined the Marine Corps in March 1953 and was honorably discharged in September 1956. She married George P. Thompson on February 11, 1956. She lived in Clarendon, Amarillo, and other parts of the US. She has a number of relatives in Clarendon.

Survivors include her husband, George P. Thompson, retired Marine Corps.; two sons, Mark and James, both of Dallas; and three daughters, Laura of Dallas, and Janet and Kathy of Clifton.

Graveside services were held in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Hamilton on Wednesday, June 12, at 2:00 p.m. with full military honors.
