Graveside services for Walker Ray Hughes, age 81, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2002, in the Claude Cemetery with Kent Watson, Minister of the Claude Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was held in the Claude Cemetery in Claude under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.

Mr. Hughes died Sunday, February 17, 2002, in Claude. He was born August 6, 1920, in Jacksboro, Texas, and came from Byers, Texas, to Claude in 1938. He was a US Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. He married Celine Eugenia Chauveaux on July 9, 1942, at Claude. He was an electronic technician most of his life before his retirement. He was a member of the Claude Church of Christ.
