Funeral services for Thelma Lowe Broadway, age 97, were held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2003, at Lunnís Colonial Chapel in Wichita Falls with Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial was held at Crestview Mausoleum under the direction of Lunnís Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

Mrs. Broadway died October 15, 2003, in Presbyterian Manor.  She was born in January 4, 1906, in Huckabay, Texas.  She married Roy Broadway on December 10, 1927, in Beaumont, Texas. She was a retired schoolteacher.  She had lived in Wichita Falls since 1943, coming from Borger.  She was active in years past in the Womanís Forum.  She was a member of the Womanís Missionary Union at the First Baptist Church and a long-time Sunday School teacher of children.  She was a founder of the Women of Rotary of Wichita Falls and member of the Wichita General Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976 and one daughter, Marilyn Brannan, in 2003.

Survivors include on son, Dr. Jerry Roy Broadway and his wife Mary Evelyn of Wichita Falls; four grandchildren, Vicki and David Henslee of Wichita Fall, Marcia and Ted Carson of Midland, Chris and Cathy Broadway of Keller, and Susan and Gary Cunningham of Plano; nine great grandchildren, Meredith Latimer, Allyson and Brian Henselee, Kristin and Caroline Carson, Kyle and Elizabeth Broadway, Bryan Blair, and Emily Cunningham.

The family requests that memorials be made the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
