Gholson

Memorial services for Jewell Imogene Gholson, age 92, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Rob Seale officiating.  Burial will be held at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno, California, under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.

Mrs. Gholson died Friday, October 17, 2003, in Clarendon.  She was born January 27, 1911 in Marietta, Ohio, to Lonnie and Bertha Johnson.  She graduated from high school and business college and worked as an accountant until her retirement. She married Thomas Curry Gholson on February 5, 1951, in Stockton, California.  He preceded her in death on December 10, 1990.  She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her son, Marvin Gene Wallace, on December 23, 1950.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan Copelin of Hedley; two grandsons, Wayne Copelin, Jr., of Oroville, California, and Ernie Copelin of Hedley; four granddaughters, Joanne Barton of Clarendon, Tina Johnson of Tulia, Laura Luttrell of Clarendon, and Erin Carothers of Clarendon; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Mac Johnson of Salinas, California; and one sister, Dorothy Wright of Lodi, California.
