Richerson
Funeral
services for M. Glenn Richerson, age 82, were held at 3:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, October 22, 2003, in the First Untied Methodist Church in
Shamrock with Rev. Todd Dyess of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Rev. Terry Lowe,
Pastor, officiating. Burial
was held in Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral
Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mr.
Richerson died Monday, October 20, 2003, in Amarillo. He was born September 4, 1920, in Hedley. He graduated from
Hedley High School and served in the Navy during World War II in
Guadacanal, Bouganville, Guam, and New Zealand. He married Eva Mae Holcomb
on November 15, 1942. For 45
years they owned and operated Richerson Funeral Home in Shamrock, retiring
in 1991.
He
was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a past president
of the Shamrock Chamber of Commerce and Shamrock School
Board. He had served as
chairman of the St. Patrick’s Day Association and was on the Shamrock
Hospital Board at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, Boosters Club,
and Shamrock Sheriff’s Posse. He
had received his 50-year pin for service to the funeral profession from
the State of Texas.
He
was preceded in death by a son, Mark, in 1988.
Survivors
include his wife, Eva Mae Richerson of Shamrock; a daughter, Toni Gail
Richerson of Richmond, Texas; an “adopted” daughter, Silvana
“Bunny” Bianco Mannarini of Milan, Italy; two sisters, Loyd Richerson
and Dorothy Richerson, both of Odessa; ten nieces; and 13 nephews.
