O'Neal

Funeral services for John Allen O’Neal, age 52, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2003, in the Clarendon Church of Christ with Bright Newhouse and Don Stone, Church of Christ Ministers from Clarendon, officiating.  Burial was held in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc. 

Mr. O’Neal died Friday, December 26, 2003, in Clarendon.  He was born August 28, 1951, in Pampa and had been a Clarendon resident all of his life.  He was employed for several years as a custodian for the Clarendon Public Schools.  He was very involved in the Clarendon Church of Christ and in the activities of the Medical Center Nursing Home where he had resided for the past several years.  He was always eager and willing to help people in any way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James LeRoy “Boots” O’Neal and Bernice Lee Andis O’Neal, and a sister, Becky Miller.

Survivors include three sisters, Mary Kay Mangum of Lefors, Beverly Shepherd of Channing, and Patricia Gattis of Irving; three brothers, Bill “Boots” O’Neal of Vernon, Wesley O’Neal of Holliday, and Joe O’Neal of Harrold; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers were Jeff Mills, Joe Gattis, Fred DeLorge, Ike O’Neal, Mark Miller, Johnny Mangum, Chance O’Neal, and Chris O’Neal.  Honorary bearers were special friends.
