Mahaffey

Graveside services for Esther Frances Newhouse Mahaffey, age 94, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2005, at the Dumas Cemetery with Mr. Art Lynch, minister at the First Street Church of Christ in Dumas, officiating. 

Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas.

Mrs. Mahaffey died May 6, 2005, in Dumas. She was born July 23, 1910, at Honey Grove, Texas.  She was a former resident of Richland Springs, Texas, before moving to Dumas in 1973. She was a longtime member of the First Street Church of Christ of Dumas.  She married Ed Mahaffey in 1938 at Santa Anna, California.  He died in 1973.  She worked at Dumas Printing with her son from 1973 to 2004.

Survivors include two sons, James Mahaffey and wife Nancy of Dumas and Gary Mahaffey of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Tonda VerWey of Dumas and Taryn Sanderson of Amarillo; great granddaughter, Cinnamon Presley of Modesto, California; great grandson, Britton Mahaffey-Sanderson of Amarillo; great granddaughter, Taeler VerWey of Dumas; and step great grandson, Corey Sanderson of Amarillo.
