Hatcher
Memorial services for
Gordon Dale Hatcher, age 65, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August
31, 2005, in Robertson Chapel of Memories with Leonard Holt, Pastor of the
Agape Christian Church in Clarendon, officiating.
Private burial was on Monday, August 29, 2005, at Citizens Cemetery
in Clarendon under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc.
Mr. Hatcher died
Sunday, August 28, 2005, in Amarillo.
He was born February 19, 1940, in Idabel, Oklahoma, and was an
Amarillo resident before moving to Clarendon three years ago. He married
Norma Jean Northern on October 3, 1964, at Amarillo.
He had been the maintenance supervisor at the Chasewood Apartments
before his retirement. He was
a member of the men’s bowling league and bowled in the Grand Street
League. He was a member of
the Agape Christian Church in Clarendon.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, William Herbert and Nona Estella Whitten Hatcher;
and by three bothers, W.D. Hatcher, Charles H. Hatcher, and Wayne Hatcher.
Survivors include his
wife, Norma Jean Hatcher of Clarendon; and eight sisters, Gladys Stogsdill
of Garland; Mary Bogle of Edmond, Oklahoma; Nona Renfro of Marlow,
Oklahoma; Jean Pogue of Wichita Falls; Ann Mims of Weatherford, Texas;
Betty Novak of Edmond, Oklahoma; Lorraine Almsted of Wellington; and
Lameda Black of Wellington.
The family requests
that memorials be to BSA Hospice or Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo.
