Merchant

Graveside services for Thelma Jean Williams Merchant, age 80, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2005, in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Baptist Minister, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., in Clarendon.

Mrs. Merchant died Monday, December 12, 2005, in Amarillo.  She was born October 31, 1925, in Clarendon to Robert Alexander Williams and Ola Blanche Putman Williams.  She had been a resident of Amarillo much of her life.  She was a dental assistant and hotel manager for several years before her retirement.  She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Merchant of Cypress, Texas; Steve Merchant of Double Oak, Texas; and Bobby Merchant of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Shad Merchant, Shawn Merchant, and Nick Merchant.

The family requests that memorials be to BSA Hospice in Amarillo.
