Lummus

J. Royce Lummus born on January 31, 1920, in Clarendon, Texas, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2005, in San Antonio, Texas.  Services were held Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. in the Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel in San Antonio.  Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home.

Mr. Lummus was a communications engineer with Southwestern Bell for 46 years.  Royce was an ordained Baptist deacon and a member of First Baptist Church San Antonio.  He was also active in the Library of Congress Talking Book Program with the SBC Pioneers.

Royce was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ladera Lucille.

Survivors include son and wife, Dr. J. Royce and Linda Lummus; a brother and wife, L.D. and Marguerite Lummus; a very special friend, Hazel Guy; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

The family requests that memorials be made to the J. Royce Lummus Endowed Scholarship Fund, Clarendon College, Presidentís Office, PO Box 968, Clarendon, TX 79226.
