Funeral services for Helen
Geneva Hale Ivey, age 86, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday,
December 31, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Claude with
Rev. Roy Rutherford of Claude, officiating.
Burial was held in Claude Cemetery under the direction of Robertson
Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Ivey died
Thursday, December 29, 2005, in Amarillo.
She was born February 7, 1919, in Scottsboro, Alabama, and was a
resident of Claude for many years. She
lived in New Boston, Texas, before returning to Claude before her
retirement. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Panhandle and was a
Methodist. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in
death by her husband in 1986; and two daughters, Margaret Suttles in
October 1999 and by Mildred Talent in July 2004.
Survivors include one
daughter, Dorothy Jaramillo of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three sons, John
Williams Ivey of Wichita Falls; Jim Ivey of Sterling,
Virginia; and Marvin Ivey of Claude; one sister, Mary Lou McClaren of
Malta, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.
The
family requests memorials be to the Claude Cemetery Association or a
favorite charity.
