Funeral services for Joane Bullard Leathers, age 78, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in McLean, Texas, with Pastor Kelly Raymond officiating.  Burial will be held in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon under the direction of Bailey-Ware Funeral Home in McLean. 

Mrs. Bullard died March 4, 2006, in McLean.  She was born January 21, 1928, at Lelia Lake, Texas, to Jay and Vera Bullard.  She married Joe Roberts Leathers on December 25, 1943, at Lelia Lake.  They were married 56 years until he passed away in 2000.  She farmed with her husband for many years at Lelia Lake.  She was the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Clarendon, and she also owned a flower shop for a few years.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Hood of Savoy, Texas; two sons, Wayne Leathers and wife Amanda of McLean and Joe Lynn Leathers and wife Louise of Panhandle; eight grandchildren: Kelly Warlick, Wes Hood, Brandon Leathers, Jennifer Hardman, David Leathers, Jonathan Leathers, Sarah Leathers, and Anna Leathers; and nine great grandchildren.
