Services for Lucille Vaughn, age 89, were held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Groom with the Rev. Bryan Knowles and the Rev. David Kelley, officiating.  Arrangements were under the direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel in Amarillo.

Mrs. Vaughn died Monday, May 1, 2006.  She was born August 21, 1916, in Duvall, Oklahoma, to Joe Harvey and Pauline Murdock Bridges.  She married Roy Vaughn on August 2, 1950, in Silverton.  Her family remembers that her family meant the world to her.  She loved to cook, play 42, and was an avid angel collector.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Vaughn; a daughter, Doris Black; seven brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Vaughn and wife Kathy of Groom; two daughters, Betty White and husband Bud of Clarendon and Darlene Ledford of Skellytown; a brother, G.W. Bridges of Friona; a sister, Inez Johnston of Clarendon; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren.
