Funeral services for Stephen
Milton Fedric, age 81, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May
22, 2006, in the First United Methodist Church in Wellington with Rev.
Charles Addington, Pastor, and Rev. Michael Breedlove, Pastor of the
Trinity Fellowship Church in Wellington, officiating.
Mr. Fedric died
Saturday, May 20, 2006, in Wellington. He
was born in Claude and lived in Stratford until 1935 when his dad, Remer
Fedric, began working at road construction and moved his family to follow
the work. Steve went to 17
schools in Texas before graduating from Claude High School in 1943. He joined the Navy soon after graduating and was sent to the
South Pacific with the construction battalion “Sea Bees,” where he
helped build air strips on a number of islands. He returned to the states
in 1946 and was discharged from the Navy a few months later.
Steve married Marjourie Gilbert at Claude on June 1, 1947. They
lived in Hereford and Amarillo before moving to Clarendon where they
farmed for 22 years and raised their family.
In 1972, they moved to Perryton for a short time, then to Pampa
where Steve worked for Permian Corp. hauling crude oil for 15 years.
After retirement, they made their home near Pampa until
the summer of 2005 when they moved to Wellington.
Steve loved the Lord, his family, and the church.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wellington.
Survivors
include his loving family and wife; two daughters, Cheryl Sanders and
husband Bob of White Deer and Lanita Moore and husband Bud of Lubbock; two
sons, Mitch Fedric and wife Tana of Bridgeport, Texas, and Randy Fedric
and wife Bonnie of Wellington; seven grandchildren, Robert Moore, Dusty
Harrison, Andy Starnes, Jana Moore, Justin Moore, Cody Fedric, and Coby
Fedric; and six great grandchildren.
