Mr. Fedric died Saturday, May 20, 2006, in Wellington.  He was born in Claude and lived in Stratford until 1935 when his dad, Remer Fedric, began working at road construction and moved his family to follow the work.  Steve went to 17 schools in Texas before graduating from Claude High School in 1943.  He joined the Navy soon after graduating and was sent to the South Pacific with the construction battalion “Sea Bees,” where he helped build air strips on a number of islands. He returned to the states in 1946 and was discharged from the Navy a few months later.  Steve married Marjourie Gilbert at Claude on June 1, 1947. They lived in Hereford and Amarillo before moving to Clarendon where they farmed for 22 years and raised their family.  In 1972, they moved to Perryton for a short time, then to Pampa where Steve worked for Permian Corp. hauling crude oil for 15 years.  After retirement, they made their home near Pampa until the summer of 2005 when they moved to Wellington.  Steve loved the Lord, his family, and the church.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wellington.
