Jackie Ellen Coleman Cartwright, 63, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, in Amarillo.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2006, in the First Baptist Church in Claude with Rev. Jess Little, Pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Claude Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.

Mrs. Cartwright was born in Seymour and was a resident of Canyon before moving to Claude 36 years ago. She married John Edwin Cartwright on February 2, 1956, at Canyon. She was the Armstrong County Justice of the Peace for 21 years before her retirement in 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Claude.

She is survived by her husband, John of Claude; three sons, Jeff Cartwright and wife Pam, and Jason Cartwright all of Panhandle, Jay Cartwright and wife Laurie of Claude; one sister, Betty Hunter of Canyon; one brother, Bill Coleman of Amarillo; and five grandchildren, Sarah Cartwright, Joshua Cartwright, Kendra Cartwright, Blakeley Cartwright, and Hunter Cartwright.
