Cynthie Gail Sparks, 55, died Thursday, August 17, 2006, in Hedley.

Services were held at 10:00 on Monday, August 21, 2006, in the Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Rob Seale, Pastor, and Rev. Chris Downer of Slaton officiating. Burial was in Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Cemetery in Boys Ranch. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.

Mrs. Sparks was born February 23, 1951, to James Emmett and Alberta Short in Hereford. She married Tony Sparks on April 10, 1976, in Amarillo.

She worked as a dorm parent at Boys Ranch for eight years before moving to Hedley in 1997. She had been a homemaker since that time. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon since 1986.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Tony, of Hedley; two daughters, Johnnie Ova and husband Chris of Hedley and Jamee Sparks of Hedley; her mother, Alberta Short of Hereford; one brother, Ronnie Short of Hereford; a half brother, James Short of Abilene; three sisters, Linda White of Hereford, Brenda Brooks and Jodie Ryen both of Ruidoso, NM; a half sister, Carolyn Wheeler of Wichita Falls; and one grandchild, CynRah Ova.

The family requests memorials be to the Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon.
