Juanita
Lane, 82, died on Thursday, September 7, 2006 in Amarillo.
Services were held at
2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2006, in the Church of Christ in
Turkey with Steve McLean, Church of Christ minister from Lockney, and Rev.
Darrel Burton, Pastor of the Martin Baptist Church in Clarendon,
officiating. Burial was in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey. Services were
under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Lane was born
July 7, 1924, in Turkey to Lon and Cecil McKay and was a lifetime Turkey
resident. She married Bill Lane on November 1, 1942, in Hall County. She
was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the
Turkey Church of Christ.
Mrs. Lane was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband on December 3, 1989; a son,
Joe Lane; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors include two
daughters, Brenda Chamberlain and husband Will of Clarendon, Suzanne
Thomas and husband David of Spearman; three sons. Bill Lane and wife Terry
of Lubbock, Jerry Lane and wife Carolyn of Plano, and David Lane and wife
Marilyn of Vernon; three brothers; eight sisters; 13 grandchildren; and 9
great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were
family members of Mrs. Lane.
The
family requests memorials be to Dreamland Cemetery Association in Turkey
or Odyssey Hospice in Amarillo.
