Vida May Shields, 87, died Friday, March 9, 2007, in Clarendon, Texas.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007, in the Church of Christ in Clarendon with Don Stone and Bright Newhouse, officiating.  Burial was held in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.  Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.

Mrs. Shields was born in Burneyville, Oklahoma, on July 11, 1919, to James and Eva Hodges May.  She had been a resident of Hall and Donley County most of her life.  She was a member of the Church of Christ in Clarendon.

Mrs. Shields was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry Don Shields; 4 brothers, Daniel May, Charlie May, Walter May, and Orin May; and 2 sisters, Ethal Clark and Eunice Stovall.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Shields of Clarendon; one sister, Edna Jones of Dennison; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the Church of Christ in Clarendon, Odyssey Hospice, or the Medical Center Nursing Home in Clarendon.
