Allie Mae Goodman Maxey, 77, died Friday, March 30, 2007, in Clarendon.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007, in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories in Clarendon with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Retired Baptist Minister, officiating. Burial was at Citizens Cemetery. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.

Mrs. Maxey was born on January 6, 1930, to Dewey and Ernie Baker Goodman in Clarendon. She was a lifetime resident of Clarendon. She married Richard Oscar Maxey on September 21, 1947, in Clarendon. She had owned her own restaurant for several years. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon.

Mrs. Maxey is preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 22, 1992; one daughter, Sandra Elaine Maxey in 1950; and one brother, Billy Goodman.

Survivors include three daughters, Marsha Kay Kirk and Paula Jo Nuss both of Amarillo, and Richelle Lynn Culifer of Tulia; a son, Richard “Buzzy” Maxey of Sacramento, California; a brother, Jimmy Goodman of New Jersey; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family request that memorials be to the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department or the Medical Center Nursing Home in Clarendon.
