Kenneth
Ray Johnston, 73, died Monday, September 3, 2007, in Amarillo.
Graveside services with Military
Honors were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2007, at Claude
Cemetery in Claude, with Rev. Jess Little, Pastor of First Baptist Church
in Claude, officiating. Burial was at Claude Cemetery. Services were under
the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mr. Johnston was born February 16,
1934, to Ray Nobel and Ilie Roberson Johnston in Bluffdale. Kenneth served
in the US Navy in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, American
Legion, and the Moose Lodge. He was a resident of Claude and Amarillo most
of his life. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was also a
Christian.
Mr. Johnston was preceded in death
by his parents.
Survivors include one daughter,
Cheryl Stephenson and husband Tony of Claude; one son, Lynn Johnston and
wife Holly of Amarillo; four sisters, Katie Gaither of Odessa, Mary
Christian of Dublin, Geneva Hall of Claude, and Vada Collins Wilson and
husband Darrel Wilson of Lindsborg, Kan.; nephew, Ray Wilson and wife
Karen of Olotho, Kan.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family requests memorials be
to Claude ISD Memorial Scholarship Fund.
