Perlie
Eugene Butler, 68, of Anderson, SC, passed away Saturday,
September 1, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 4
p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2007, at the Fellowship Wesleyan Church,
officiated by Rev. George Brassard. Services were under the arrangement of
Woodland-Sosebee Funeral Home of Anderson, SC.
Mr. Butler was born in Hedley on
November 8, 1938. He was the son of the late Alexander and Florence
Butler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two
brothers, Alavie and Jimmy Butler and two sisters, Melissa Price and
Bessie Kunkel. Coach Don ‘The Bear’ Haskins, head coach of UTEP and
basis for the movie Glory Road was a former basketball coach for Mr.
Butler during his playing days in high school.
He is survived by a daughter Donna
Lynn Graham; three brothers, Henry, G.L., and R.E. Butler, sisters: Oneda
McCracken, Elnora Corona, Marie Burchfield, Hatti Butler and Alta Condran,
and granddaughter: Brandi Cofer.
