Clarence
Ray Blakeley, Jr., 72, of Claude died Tuesday, October 9, 2007,
in Amarillo.
Graveside services were held at
10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2007, at Claude Cemetery in Claude with
Rev. Janet Edwards, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Claude,
officiating. Burial was held in Claude Cemetery with Masonic Rites by
Claude Masonic Lodge # 719. Services were under the arrangement of
Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mr. Blakeley was born January 22,
1935, in Hickory, North Carolina, to Clarence Ray Blakeley, Sr. and
Dorothy Campbell Blakeley. He married Mary Stuchlike on December 7, 1970,
at Nephi, Utah. He was a veteran of the Army, Air Force, & Marine
Corps. He was a resident of Aurora, Colorado, prior to moving to Claude in
September 1993. He was a member of Claude Masonic Lodge #719. He was a
Methodist.
Mr. Blakeley was preceded in death
by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary
Blakeley of Claude; two daughters, Theresa Delap of Oregon, and Janet
McLoughlin of California; one son, Curtis Ray Blakeley of Florida; 4
brothers, James Blakeley of California, Ronny Blakeley of Connecticut, Joe
Blakeley of Missouri, and Jerry Blakeley of California; and five
grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be
to the American Cancer Society.
