William
Carlton “Brownie” Quisenberry, 101, died Thursday, October
18, 2007, in Gladewater.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on
Saturday, October 20, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Hedley, with
Rev. Bruce Howard, officiating. Burial was held at Rowe Cemetery in
Hedley. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors
of Clarendon.
Mr. Quisenberry was born June 27,
1906, in Richland Springs, Texas to Joseph William and Florence Elizabeth
Burleson Quisenberry. He married Jewell Anna Dickson on October 31, 1931,
at Hollis, Okla. He had been a farmer, drove heavy equipment for Donley
County, and managed the Hedley Lumber Company. Before moving to Hedley in
1919, Brownie had lived in Goodnight next to Col. Charles Goodnight. He
was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hedley.
Mr. Quisenberry was preceded in
death by his wife, Jewell Quisenberry, on August 9, 2007; his parents; two
brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include one son, Jack
Quisenberry and wife Carroll of Winona; four grandchildren; and six great
grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials
be made to Hedley Senior Citizens, Rowe Cemetery Association, or the
Hedley First Baptist Church.
