Karnes, 91, died on Sunday, November 4, 2007, in Clarendon.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00
p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2007, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo
with Rev. Lowell Hall, Pastor of the Faith Baptist Church of Cushing,
Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in
Amarillo. Services are under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral
Directors of Clarendon.
Mrs. Karnes was born June 22,
1916, in Briscoe County to Jess and Katie E. Rish Stice. She married
Albert Karnes on August 25, 1937, at Carson County. She was a resident of
Amarillo before moving to Clarendon in 1984. She loved to crochet and
watch TV. She dearly loved her family and friends. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Karnes was preceded in death
by her husband, on July 15, 1984; her son, Cloyce “Jake” Karnes; her
parents; two brothers; and her granddaughter, Terry Ann Karnes.
Survivors include three
grandchildren, Phillip Karnes of Amarillo, Lyn Curran and husband Chris of
McKinney, and Donna Martjuchin and husband Dmitri of Correnth, Texas; a
sister, Fayrene Colburn of Monroe, Utah; eight great grandchildren, and
five great-great grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be
to the Donley County Senior Citizens or Meals on Wheels of Clarendon.
