Carol Elaine Griffitts Thomas, 60, died Thursday, November 15, 2007 in Amarillo.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2007, in the First Assembly of God Church in Clarendon with Rev. Matthew Stidham, Pastor, officiating. Burial was held at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Mrs. Thomas was born July 1, 1947, in Whittier, Calif. to Lester Marvin and Elsie Lena Maxey Griffitts. She married Cal Thomas on July 20, 1963 at Montebello, California. She had been a resident of Clarendon for over 30 years. She was the Co-Owner of Panhandle Road & Field with her husband. She attended many of her grandson’s sporting events in Hedley. She was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended the First Assembly of God in Clarendon.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her daughter, LaDona Kay Thomas on November 11.

Survivors include her husband, Cal of Clarendon; two sons, Darrell Thomas and Shanon Thomas both of Clarendon; a sister, Lavonne Griffitts of California; and seven grandchildren.

The family request memorials be to the Harrington Cancer Center or the American Heart Association.
