“Skeet” Parker, age 82, died Thursday, December 6, 2007, at
Gunnison, Colo.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm
on Friday, December 14, 2007, in the Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of
Memories in Clarendon.
Interment will be in Citizens
Cemetery in Clarendon with arrangements by Robertson Funeral Directors of
Clarendon.
“Skeet” was born in Randal
County, Texas, to J.C. and Ruth Gibbs on December 29, 1924.
She graduated from Clarendon High School in 1942. Skeet
married Claude Parker of Clarendon on April 16, 1943.
After raising three children, she went on to receive a Bachelors of
Art degree in Elementary Education from West Texas A&M 1961. Skeet and
Claude moved to Amarillo where she taught art education at Oakdale
Elementary, Fannin Junior High, and Sam Houston Junior High.
Skeet was a wonderful wife,
mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She always thought of
others before herself, and she had a love of art that manifested itself
through her amazing paintings. She will be dearly missed by everyone who
knew her.
She is survived by her husband
Claude of 64 years now residing in Gunnison; two sons, Marvin and his wife
Neva of Gunnison, Richard “Dick” and his wife Edith of Moore, Okla.; a
daughter, Sharon and her husband Ken of Lewisville; three grandchildren
Kim, Richard Wayne, and Damon; and three great grandchildren: Charlton,
Avery and Braydon.
