Wallace J. McGuire, 81, died Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Waco.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2008, in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Rev. Darrell Burton, Pastor of the Martin Baptist Church in Clarendon, officiating. Interment was held at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Wallace was born on March 3, 1926, in Thomaston, Ga., to Ventnor and Ida McGuire. He married Earline Fortenberry on January 13, 1970, in Amarillo. He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, on January 2, 2006; his parents; and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Humphrey and husband Al of Waco, and Linda Perish; two sons, Steven W. McGuire of Tallahassee, Fla., and Mickey R. McGuire of Lancaster, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the Veteran of Foreign Wars.
