Loi “Mable” Thompson, 86, died Thursday, February 14, 2008,
in Clarendon.
Services
were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, in the First United
Methodist Church in Vega with Minister Brad Thompson, officiating, and
Jerry Keeley assisting. Musical arrangements were provided by the
Southwest Church of Christ Singers. Burial was held at Memorial Park
Cemetery in Vega. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral
Directors.
Mable
was born July 7, 1921, in Rolla, Kansas to Everett Grant and Freda
Hintergardt Tracy. She married Albert Day Thompson December 21, 1941. She
had been a resident of Vega most of her life before moving to Clarendon in
1999. She was a secretary and clerk for SPS prior to her retirement. She
was active in the Senior Citizens Association. She was a member of the
First United Methodist Church of Vega.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Day Thompson, on May 20,
1998; her parents; and her brother, Merlyn.
Survivors
include two sons, Marvin Thompson and his wife Sue of Clarendon, and Jerry
Ray Thompson of Calistoga, Calif.; six grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The
family requests memorials be to The Hali Project, 26551 Newton, Canyon,
Texas 79015, or the American Cancer Society, or Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
