Oscar Ortega Felan, 66, died Monday, March 3, 3008, in Hedley.

Rosary was held at on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon. Mass was celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2008, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon with Rev. Arokia Raj Samala as the celebrant. Burial was held at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Oscar was born August 9, 1941, in Del Rio, to José and Teresa Ortega Felan. He married Mary Sauceda on October 13, 1958, at Del Rio. He had been a resident of Lakeview before moving to Hedley in 1980. He had worked as a cotton ginner at the Lelia Lake and Lakeview Gins, had worked as a truck driver for Continental Express, and worked at Hedley ISD and for the City of Hedley. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Mary Felan; one son, Oscar D. Felan of Garden City, Kansas; two daughters, Rosemary Jaramillo and husband Raymond of Amarillo and Terry Sanchez and husband Chris of Pampa; one brother, José Felan of Monahans; one sister, Juanita Lomas of Del Rio; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Rowe Cemetery Association in Hedley.
