Kermit
Hughes Hopper, age 91, died Friday, March 21, 2008, in
Clarendon.
Graveside Services were held at
2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2008, in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley with
Bright Newhouse, Minister of the Hedley Church of Christ, officiating.
Interent was in Rowe Cemetery in
Hedley with arrangements by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mr. Hopper was born November 11,
1916, in Hopper, Ark. to Jim and Julina Hopper. He married Susie Lucille
Walls on June 27, 1937 at Clarendon. He was known to many people as “Toopie.”
He farmed in Hall County for some time. He moved to Happy in 1953. From
1969 until his death he had been a resident of Clarendon and Donley
County. He was a member of the Hedley Senior Citizens. He was a member of
the Hedley Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, on October 19, 1980; his parents; a daughter, Judith Maria Nusz in
1984; two brothers, Ted and Wesley; and four sisters, Cora, Mae, Alice,
and Lila.
He is survived by two daughters,
Ramona Elliott and Lawana Selvidge, both of Canyon; two brothers, Ramond
Hopper of Oklahoma, and Don Hopper of Clarendon; three grandchildren,
Rhnea Cathey of Canyon, Tisha Brooks of Houston, and Barry Nusz of
Amarillo; six great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
The family requests memorials be
to the Hedley Senior Citizens.
