Thelma
Louise Fountain Barham, 84, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, in
Seven Points.
Graveside services were held at
11:00 am on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at the Goodnight Cemetery in
Goodnight with Rev. Kenneth James, retired Baptist minister, officiating.
Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of
Clarendon.
Thelma was born April 30, 1924, in
Monroe County, Alabama to Charles and Maggie Wiggins Fountain. She married
Perry Newland Barham, Sr. on October 30, 1945, in Moss Point, Miss. Prior
to moving to Seven Points in 2005, Thelma had spent the last 30 years in
Arlington. She had been a homemaker, sold real estate in Colorado, worked
as a retail clerk for JC Penney’s, and had retired from Martin Sprocket
and Gear in Arlington. She enjoyed dancing, playing games, and traveling.
Thelma was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a Southern
Baptist and attended church at the First Baptist Church in Tool.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband; five brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter,
Ginny Robinette and husband Bob of Seven Points; two sons, Perry Barham,
Jr. and fiance Betty Mueller of Chicago, Ill., Bobby Barham and wife
Geneva of Springtown; a brother, Woodrow Fountain of Alamogordo, NM; a
sister Voncile Drake of Conroe; two grandchildren; four step
grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
The family requests memorial
contributions be to a local Hospice of choice.
