Kelly Ethel Bridges, 87, died Friday, September 26, 2008 in Childress.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2008, at Red Marble Ministries Church with Rev. Dale Sexton, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis.

Mrs. Bridges was born on March 14, 1921, in Windy Valley, to the late J.C. and Sallie (Holman) Bramlett. She attended schools in Hedley. She married Jessie Willard Bridges on December 20, 1938, in Clarendon. She was a homemaker and a cook at Orvilla’s Daycare for a number of years. She moved to Memphis in 1995 from Donley County. She was a member of Travis Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband on February 22, 1992; one son, Jacky Bridge,s on December 15, 1992; one brother, Delmer Bramlett; and one sister, Thelma Dill.

Survivors include two sons, Donnie Bridges and wife Janet of Memphis, Tom Bridges and wife Diane of Levelland, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
