Glendoris "Doris" Ellis McAfee, 73, died Saturday, October 4, 2008, in Amarillo.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, in the Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon with Rev. Jimmy Phillips, Jerry Koontz, and Jimmy Johnson, officiating. Burial followed at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Doris was born July 23, 1935, in Clayton, NM to Nile R. and Iola R. Reif Ellis. She married Cecil William McAfee on May 24, 1953 at Amistad, NM. She was a resident of Olney before moving to Donley County 34 years ago. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts when her sons were young and was a member of Community Fellowship Church where she helped with Vacation Bible School. She was a homemaker and had worked as a Teller at Farmers State Bank & Trust in Clarendon for 18 years and had worked at Western National Bank in Amarillo for 11 years before her retirement.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil William McAfee of Clarendon; two sons, Steven William McAfee and wife Polly of Clarendon, Farrell Dee McAfee and wife Karen of Columbia, Md.; two sisters, Emma Lee Medlock of Lorenzo, Vera Dawn Perschbacher of Clarendon; three brothers, Richard Ellis of Hereford, Dale Ellis of Amistad, NM, Doug Ellis of San Jon, NM; eight grandchildren, Seth McAfee, Ronnie Tabor, Kristen McAfee, Brandon McAfee, Nathan McAfee, Austin McAfee, Devin McAfee, Brenna McAfee; and two great grandchildren, Kaden Tabor and Thomas Tabor.
