Mary A. Felan, 68, died Saturday, December 21, 2008, in Amarillo.

Rosary was said on Monday, December 22, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon. Mass was celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon with Rev. Arokia Raj “Raj” Samala as the celebrant. Burial followed at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Mrs. Felan was born June 17, 1940, in Del Rio, and was a former resident of Lakeview before moving to Hedley in 1980. She married Oscar Ortega Felan on October 13, 1958, at Del Rio. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2008. She had worked as a cook and custodian at the Hedley schools before her retirement and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, and one sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Jaramillo and husband Raymond of Amarillo, Terry Sanchez and husband Chris of Pampa; two sons, Oscar D. Felan of Garden City, Kansas and O. J. Felan of Hedley; six sisters, Adelina Trevino of Levelland, Carmen Lopez of Eldorado, Rosa Sauceda of Ft. Worth, Romelia Valdez of Littlefield, Elvia Garcia of Ft. Worth, Irma Gonzales of Alvorado; six brothers, Pedro Sauceda of Coleman, Alabama, Florencio Sauceda of Del Rio, Jesus Sauceda of Del Rio, Jose Sauceda of Ft. Worth, Raul Sauceda of Ft. Worth, Gilberto Sauceda of Littlefield; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
